    Sai Rokuyo

    Born in 1953 in Kyoto Japan. He began composing his first songs at the age of 13. At this time, he is mainly influenced by musicians such as Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger,and folk music. He also developed a growing interest in Jazz and classical music. Most “Folk” compositions he wrote during this period were not monotonic, but had their own colorful tone. He continued to write until the age of 20 years, and after having written nearly 40 compositions, he finally turned to medical sciences.He was appointed for a long period as a medical technologist for heart diseases in the National Cardiovascular Center and Osaka.University Hospital.
    Following his doctorate in medicine, He began to educate nurses on cardiac nursing. He is currently President of the Association for Nursing in Cardiovascular diseases.He published many books in cardiology focusing on the electrocardiogram, and is particularly known as “The physician of the “Heart Sensei” among nurses and medical practitioners in the country.
    Despite his work in medicine, he kept his relationship with music, until actively resuming his activities as a composer after having received a new inspiration through contemporary music.
    He worked on a number of works after the age of 60, and also completed an opera of his own composition.

    Né en 1953 à Kyoto Japon. Il commence à composer ses premières mélodies à l’âge de 13 ans. A cette époque, il est surtout influencé par des musiciens tels que Bob Dylan et Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, et la musique Folk. Il développe aussi un intérêt grandissant pour le Jazz et le Classique. La plupart des compositions “Folk” qu’il écrivit pendant cette période n’étaient pas monotoniques, mais possédaient leur propre univers. Il continue d’écrire jusqu’à l’âge de 20 ans, où après avoir realisé près de 40 compositions, il se tourne finalement vers les sciences médicales.
    Il fut engagé pendant une longue période comme technicien médical en maladies cardiaques au Centre National Cardiovasculaire de l’hôpital universitaire d’Osaka.
    A la suite de son doctorat en médecine, il commenca à former des infirmiers pour les soins cardiovasculaires. Il est aujourd’hui Président de l’association pour les soins infirmiers en maladies cardiovasculaires.
    Il publia bon nombre d’ouvrages en cardiologie mettant l’accent sur l’électrocardiogramme, et il est particulièrement connu comme “Le médecin du “Heart Sensei” à l’électrocardiogramme” parmi les infirmiers et praticiens dans le monde médical.
    Malgré son activité en médecine, il conserva sa relation avec la musique, jusqu’à reprendre activement son travail comme compositeur après avoir reçu une inspiration nouvelle via la musique contemporaine
